Ode to Inigo Montoya

Sunbleached
and distressed
with frayed cuffs
oil stains
elbows worn threadbare
by tables on ancient lunch breaks
his father's gifted work coat
keeps him drier
warmer
than his own zippered burlap
could ever right the rain.
